Directions

As has been mentioned elsewhere despite being so close to main road arteries Belvide seems ‘a million miles from anywhere’ and remains completely unknown even to the majority of ‘the locals’. If it is your first visit you are advised against relying on getting almost there then asking for directions.

By Car
If you have a satnav. system ST19 9LX will get you there. If you can’t see the gate when your system says you are arriving at destination drive past the caravan park on both sides of the road and round the bend. You will see the gate immediately past a cottage on the drivers side of the road.

No satnav – Leave the M6 at J12 and follow the A5 west for three miles. Turn off along Horsebrook Lane (if you pass The Bell public house – the Noted Ham and Eggery – you have missed the turn). From Horsebrook Lane take the 2nd right hand turn into Shutt Green Lane, continue for one mile passing over a narrow canal bridge and past the caravan park. Continue around the bend and Belvide is just past the cottage on the right hand side of the road.

From the village of Brewood, face the Lion Hotel in the square, turn along Bargate Street and then take the second right down Bargate Lane, bear left into Horsebrook Lane then second left into Shutt Green lane and follow instructions as above.

By Rail
The nearest railway station is at Wolverhampton from where there is a bus link to nearby Brewood. There are geographically closer stations at Codsall and Penkridge but without any frequent bus service.

By Bus
Buses serving Brewood, which is a 20-minute walk to the reserve, include the 878 from Wolverhampton. Check out at http://www.travelinemidlands.co.uk
