Belvide is a West Midland Bird Club (WMBC) reserve and accessible by membership of WMBC only.  Check out http://www.westmidlandbirdclub.org.uk  (link on right) for details on club membership.                                                                                                                               Please Note:  There are two categories of Club membership – Inclusive and Standard.  Inclusive membership includes access to all four WMBC reserves.  Standard membership caters for all those who do not wish to visit the reserves.  To visit Belvide Inclusive membership is required.

Day Permits   Bonafide groups can purchase a day permit to Belvide for the group at £3 per visiting non member.  Applications and cheques should be made out to the West Midland Bird Club and sent to the Permit secretary at the address below.

Permit Secretary,                                                                                                                              Mark Rickus, 27, Ringmere Avenue, Castle Bromwich, Birmingham B36 9AT – permits@westmidlandbirdclub.org.uk

Since the most recent site map of Belvide was published in 2010 many significant changes have taken place.  As it would be wasteful to print a new map until this work is complete the WMBC Membership Secretary currently sends out the 2010 map with an accompanying letter detailing recent additions but for the benefit of those still to join these are listed below.

There are now three additional Hides all of which have disabled access. The Andrew Chappell hide is located approximately midway between the Gazebo and Scott hides and the Woodland hide is located, as its name implies, in the Woodland where the feeding station is shown on the map.  To reach the latest and most impressive of our hides continue  past the West end hide until you reach the tarmac driveway.  Turn to your right until you reach a gap in the hedge.  Our Hawkshutts hide can be reached along a screened boardwalk through the hedge.

The reserve now has two fully accessible toilets.  One toilet is located in the reserve car park and a second half way into the reserve, by the Gazebo hide.

The main reserve path is now fully accessible and runs right through the reserve from the car park to the Hawkshutts hide.

Access around Belvide is restricted to the green and black dotted lines shown on the map. There is no access along the dam wall or on the north shore at any time apart from under the supervision/direction of the Work party manager for maintenance work.

Our final ‘big plan’ will take place in the spring of 2019 when we will be replacing the stairs on the Scott Hide with a fully accessible access ramp.  This will mean that five of our six hides are fully accessible.

The new map of Belvide is ready to go as soon as this last improvement is in place.

Please Note: Brewood Fishing Club have access to the North shore for a four week period starting on 1st Saturday in July each year (which is outside the bird breeding season).

The car park has been extended and accommodates approximately twenty cars.

Visitors should observe the following code
Always carry your membership card as you may be asked to show it
Dogs are not permitted
No smoking in any of the hides
Leave all hides tidy, close all windows, and lock up after you if you are the last to leave
Please be quiet in hides, but remember that you were young once!
Leave toilets as you would wish to find them
Remove all litter and take it home (no bins are provided as they attract vermin)

Above all we hope you will enjoy your visit.
